A.J. Land, Jr.

As founder and chairman of Pope & Land Enterprises, Inc., Mr. Land has played an instrumental role in the brokerage of industrial and commercial real estate for the past 29 years. At the beginning of his career in 1960, he handled various phases of industrial and commercial real estate for Pope & Carter Company, Inc. In 1969, he became Vice President and Managing Partner of an affiliated company which evolved into Crow, Pope & Land Enterprises, Inc. Three years later, Mr. Land became President and Managing Partner of Crow, Pope & Land Enterprises, Inc., a company whose developed projects exceeded $500 million in the United States and Southeast Asia. Finally, in January of 1979, he formed Pope & Land Enterprises, Inc. continuing his legacy of commercial real estate development and brokerage. Today, the firm maintains a variety of remarkable mixed-use projects in Atlanta and throughout the Southeastern United States and continues to develop large commercial projects and land transactions in the metro Atlanta area.

Mr. Land is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the Atlanta and Cobb County Boards of Realtors. He is currently a Trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc., the Randolph Macon Women’s College and the Preservation Institute of Nantucket. He has also served as a past Trustee of the Metropolitan Atlanta Crime Commission, the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, Georgia Tech’s Alexander-Tharpe Fund, and has served as Chair of the Georgia Tech Foundation.

Mr. Land received a B.S. degree from Georgia Tech in 1960, a Doctor of Law degree from Emory University in 1963, and graduated from the Harvard Business School, Advanced Management Program in 1978. He and his wife, the former Mary Lynne Coppage of Columbus, Georgia, reside in Atlanta. They have two adult children.
