Mr. Morgan began his real estate career in 1973 with Crow, Pope, & Land in Atlanta, where he was responsible for all international development projects which included hotel, shopping, office, and resort uses. In 1979, Mr. Morgan transitioned to Pope & Land Enterprises along with the other principals of Crow, Pope, & Land to focus on land and commercial development in the Atlanta metropolitan area. During this period he also was CEO of an investment holding company which owned three subsidiary operating companies in the manufacturing, distribution, and agricultural industries. In 1986, Mr. Morgan became President and COO of The Myrick Company where he was responsible for overall operations of a full-service development, brokerage, and management commercial property company.
In 1997, he returned to Pope & Land as a development partner. He continues in this capacity today.
Mr. Morgan is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has also served as a board member for the Council for Quality Growth, Tech Industries, Inc., Southern Turf Nurseries, Inc, and Sandy Springs Revitalization Inc, and as a member of NAIOP, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and the Harvard Business School Club.
Mr. Morgan received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy where he served on the staff of VADM Hyman G. Rickover in the Nuclear Reactors group. He and his wife reside in Atlanta and have two adult children.
