Mason Zimmerman, Chairman of the Town Center Community Improvement District (CID), was on hand along with county commissioners, members of the Town Center CID and officials from the county transporation department and the National Park Services as ground was broken for the long awaited Noonday Creek Trail on Tuesday, March 24. The Town Center CID has been a key player in the development of the trail by spending more than $876,000 on engineering and design studies during the past 10 years. On behalf of Pope & Land, we are pleased to announce that the Barrett Development will be included in the trail's path through North Cobb. "We're most excited about enhancing the quality of life for Cobb residents who live and work up here," said Mason Zimmerman. The six-mile trail will follow the path of Noonday Creek between Bell's Ferry Road and the northern boundary of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. It will continue just north of Town Center Mall and go under I-75 along the way. The trail will be built in phases, with the first two expected to be completed in 2009 with the remainder completed in 2012. Upon its completion, the trail will be recognized as one of the top recreational venues in the state of Georgia.
