POPE & LAND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a managing director at Pope & Land, Mr. Spears’ primary focus is on the pursuit of new development and investment opportunities as well as lending support and expertise to various current and proposed projects.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Mr. Spears rejoined Pope & Land in 2023 after working as a valued member of its Development & Investment Services’ team from 2016-2021. He was previously Senior Vice President of Development at the Worthing Companies. Prior to Worthing, Mr. Spears worked in real estate development and private equity in Washington, D.C.
EDUCATION: Mr. Spears has a BA and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
MEMBERSHIP: Mr. Spears became a CFA charter in 2012 before choosing to go inactive in 2021.
PERSONAL: Mr. Spears and his wife, Claire, have two children and live in Buckhead.
