ENERGY STAR® certified buildings have been verified to perform among the top 25 percent of similar buildings nationwide. On average, they use 35 percent less energy and generate 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their peers. Their efforts contribute to stronger economies, healthier communities, and cleaner air for everyone.
Each year, the EPA announces the cities with the most ENERGY STAR certified buildings in the previous year. It’s 2023 ENERGY STAR TOP 25 CITIES’ list ranked Atlanta as #3 (376 buildings), with Los Angeles (748 buildings) and Washington D.C. (555 buildings) taking the top two spots.
