An Alpharetta fiber optics company is helping kick-start North Fulton County’s latest mixed-use development. Pope & Land Enterprises secured a pre-lease with Alpharetta-based FiberLight — a custom fiber network developer — for 16K SF at 3000 Summit Place, a planned 30K SF office building in the larger mixed-use project Northwinds Summit. FiberLight is installing bundles of dark fiber cables that will allow future tenants of the project access to up to 100-gigabit-speed internet, FiberLight Chief Operating Officer Kevin Coyne said in a release. The fiber optics company has been tapped to provide a high-capacity wireless network for the overall project, officials said. “The fiber will already be installed throughout the park when new tenants arrive, enabling them to quickly access dedicated, high-capacity networks,” Coyne said. Colliers International Atlanta Senior Vice President Russ Jobson brokered the deal. 3000 Summit Place is part of Phase 1 of Pope & Land’s Northwinds Summit, which also will include the 150K SF 5000 Summit Place office building, a 125-room boutique hotel, 140 apartment units, 32 condominiums and 15K SF of retail space. FiberLight’s offices are expected to deliver in the fall of 2019.
