Consumer Finance Company Scheduled to Take Opportunity by Mid-2021

Consumer finance company First Investors Financial Services has signed a lease for a new office at Cumberland Center I in Atlanta.

The company, which has maintained an office in the Galleria area for more than 25 years, reached a deal for 38,731 square feet at the 194,286-square-foot, seven-story building at 3065 Akers Mill Road SE. The company is scheduled to open its new office in the second quarter of 2021.

Developed in 1985 by property owner Pope & Land Co., Cumberland Center I was originally fully leased to Sprint before the company began cutting space, creating room for other tenants. The longtime owner carried out an extensive renovation and multi-tenanting process, including renovating the lobby and tenant lounge. The property also features a gym, 96-seat conference room and micro market.

Today, the building is more than 95% leased to a tenant roster that also includes Wise Foods and Vimo, Inc., an insurance company that signed a lease for nearly 33,000 square feet in the building earlier this year. Only 7,484 square feet on the top floor and 985 square feet on the second floor remain available.

For the Record:

Joseph Howie, Mitch Kahlert, and Harry deAntonio of ICON Commercial represented First Investors. Jennifer Koontz and Frances Land of Pope & Land represented the landlord in-house.
